What's New in CompareMate

Profile's saved results have been consolidated into a single Saved Library, with clearer separation between intentionally saved content and automatic activity history. Zaila-assisted comparisons, Trust Checks, alternatives, and image results now live together under Saved Zaila, and new saved snapshots preserve provenance metadata safely through existing Save and Share paths.

Guest profile now better explains guest access and account benefits. Guest profile shows Guest Mode instead of Free Plan, guest comparison usage is shown clearly, saved sections show helpful empty states instead of endless loading, and guests are prompted to sign in to save results and build a collection.

Downloadable comparison reports were improved to better match the on-screen comparison results. Reports include more comparison context, original search and summary details are included, and score breakdown sections are included in downloadable reports.

Score breakdown categories are now better matched to the type of comparison. Food comparisons use nutrition-focused categories, service comparisons use service-specific categories, visual comparison charts better match the result card score breakdown, and generic scoring labels are reduced when they don't fit the comparison type.

Comparison result pages now show both the original user search and Zaila's refined search. Added a Your Search banner showing what the user originally entered and how Zaila refined the request, making results easier to understand and review later.

Comparison results now include follow-up options so users can continue asking questions after seeing results. Added Ask Zaila a follow-up and suggested follow-up chips, helping users ask deeper questions without starting over — especially useful for food, service, product, and app comparisons.

Trust Check now supports screenshot/image upload planning and setup for checking job posts, websites, emails, offers, subscriptions, and marketplace listings. Screenshot uploads will use Google Vision first for OCR/text extraction, analyze visible warning signs, and reports show whether they are screenshot-only or screenshot + live verification.

Status and subscription badge labels are now readable in all themes, including light mode and custom color schemes. Text colors are no longer washed out by low-contrast accent colors.

Admin email notifications for new feedback submissions were not always sending correctly. This has been resolved so admins are reliably notified when a user submits feedback.

The CompareMate app icon has been refreshed with a clean logo-mark on a dark navy background, with proper safe-zone padding for Android home screens and maskable icon support.

The bottom navigation bar on mobile now stays fixed at the correct position and no longer overlaps page content or gets pushed up by the keyboard.

Users can now create fully custom app themes with personalized colors, background styles, card aesthetics, and button shapes. Themes are saved to your profile.

Admin Preview mode now enriches comparison results with live web sources via Brave Search and Firecrawl. Results include source quality labels and usage notes.

Save your comparison setups as reusable templates. Quickly re-run past searches with your preferred criteria, budget, and use case pre-filled.

The feedback system now supports multiple types including Bug Report, Feature Request, and 'I love it!' Users can include screenshots and ratings.

Local business comparison now uses real Google Places data. Results include distance, ratings, and business hours with map and list views.

Saving, sharing, and downloading comparison reports has been improved. PDF exports now use browser-native print for better compatibility. CSV and Word export options are also available.

Trust Check now uses consistent weight-based scoring (0–100) with clear risk tiers: Critical Risk, High Risk, Caution, Moderate Risk, and Lower Risk. The report includes a 'Why this score?' breakdown.

Zaila's search refinement flow has been improved for better question handling, profile building, and transition to comparison results.

Custom theme style buttons now correctly display the exact accent color selected by the user, rather than defaulting to the app's primary color.

The delete button for custom themes now works reliably. It uses a Confirm / Cancel flow and no longer loses state on re-render.

Multiple mobile layout issues have been fixed across the Profile, Compare, and Admin pages. Navigation tabs now scroll horizontally and buttons no longer get cut off on small screens.

Local Compare now handles location permission issues more gracefully. If you deny location access or your browser blocks it, you'll be prompted to enter your city or ZIP code manually instead — so local results always stay accessible.

You can now upload multiple product images at once and let Zaila AI compare them side by side. Simply tap 'Compare product images' on the home screen, select your photos, and get an AI-powered comparison — even when product names aren't shown.

Voice search now handles microphone permission requests more reliably. If your browser blocks microphone access, you'll see a clear message explaining what happened and how to fix it. Fallback text search is always available.

Transactional emails are now working correctly — including welcome emails, saved report notifications, and beta update announcements. If you've been missing emails from CompareMate, this has been resolved.

A dedicated CompareMate app for iOS and Android is in the works. You'll be able to compare products, search by voice or image, and access your saved reports — right from your phone. Stay tuned for the launch announcement.

You can now submit feedback whether you're signed in or just browsing. Feedback is saved in our system and reviewed by the team. Screenshot uploads are also supported so you can show us exactly what you're seeing.

We resolved the microphone access issue, allowing users to utilize voice input for comparisons effectively.

Location-based comparisons are now fully operational, enhancing user experience with GPS functionality.

Clicking a map pin in Local Compare now highlights the corresponding result card and vice versa, making it easy to identify which business is selected across both views.

On mobile, tapping a map pin in Local Compare now opens a slide-up card at the bottom of the screen showing the business name, rating, distance, open status, address, and quick-action buttons for calling, visiting the website, or comparing.

Local Compare on desktop now supports three view modes — List, Split (map alongside cards), and Map — switchable from a toggle in the header for a more flexible browsing experience.

The Send Feedback button in the feedback modal now remains visible above the bottom navigation bar, ensuring users can easily send their feedback.

All transactional emails (welcome, feedback confirmation, saved report notifications, and beta updates) now send from hello@compare-mate.com with replies going to support@compare-mate.com.

Published changelog entries now appear instantly on the What's New page without needing a manual refresh. The Admin Changelog also updates in real-time when entries are created or changed.

Voice input now includes comprehensive permission handling to inform users of access status.

The feedback UI has been enhanced for better usability. The 'Share feedback' link is now easier to tap without interference from other elements.

Added a full branded email system for CompareMate beta: welcome email on sign-up, saved report confirmation, feedback received acknowledgement, and admin-triggered beta update broadcasts with unsubscribe support. All emails use mobile-friendly CompareMate-branded HTML templates. Email logs are tracked for admins.

Fixed a bug where answering a follow-up question (e.g. 'Ad free') would leave the comparison stuck on 'Thinking...' forever. The app now proceeds to results after one follow-up, adds timeouts on all AI calls, shows a Retry button on failure, and no longer crashes for unauthenticated users.

The action icons for reset, image upload, and microphone are now placed on their own row above the text input and send button. This change ensures that no elements are cut off on mobile devices, enhancing user experience.

As an early version user of CompareMate, your feedback is invaluable! Please share your thoughts as we continue to improve and refine our app.
