Privacy Policy

CompareMate is an AI-powered product and service comparison platform. We help users compare products, apps, services, subscriptions, and more — generating structured, data-driven recommendations to support informed decision-making. CompareMate is currently in beta.

When you use CompareMate, you may provide:

• Registration details (email address, name) when creating an account
• Search queries and comparison inputs
• Feedback and messages submitted through our Contact or Feedback forms
• Screenshots or images uploaded alongside feedback submissions
• Payment information when subscribing to a premium plan (processed directly by Stripe — we never see your card number)

If you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and account preferences. We use this to personalize your experience, restore your comparison history, and communicate with you about your account. You can update or delete your account at any time.

Comparisons and reports you save are stored in our database and associated with your account. This allows you to revisit them later and enables features like price tracking and reminders. Your saved reports are private to your account unless you explicitly share them.

Feedback you submit (through the Feedback button or Contact page) is stored and visible only to CompareMate administrators. We use it to improve the product. If you provide an email address with your feedback, we may reply to you directly.

If you attach a screenshot to a feedback submission, it is uploaded to secure cloud storage and associated with your feedback record. These images are only accessible to CompareMate staff. You may request deletion of any uploaded screenshots by contacting us.

The Local Compare feature uses your device's geolocation (with your explicit permission) to find nearby businesses. We use your coordinates only to perform the local search and do not store your precise location permanently. Location data is never sold or shared with third parties.

If you use voice search, your browser will request microphone access. Audio is transcribed locally or via a speech-to-text API and converted into a text query. We do not store audio recordings — only the resulting text query is processed.

Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe. CompareMate does not store full payment card details. We receive confirmation of payment status, subscription tier, and billing dates from Stripe to manage your account access. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

We may send you transactional emails (e.g., verification codes, saved report confirmations) and, if you opt in, product update emails. You can manage notification preferences in your profile settings or unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the CompareMate service
• Personalize AI recommendations based on your history
• Process subscriptions and manage account access
• Send service-related communications
• Detect and prevent abuse or fraud
• Understand how users interact with the app (anonymous analytics)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, visit our Data Deletion Request page or contact us directly. We will process your request within 30 days.
